D.Gray-man Review (manga)

I hate to admit it, but I have just recently started to read the D.Gray-man manga. I was too busy with my other mangas that I was being lazy to start a new one, especially if it is a shounen manga with hundreds of chapter already. And to think that my hands were full of school requirements too, if I may add. It is not that I have no plans at all of giving this a shot, it was just I was looking for a perfectly long vacation to read heaps of mangas. Now that my wish finally came true, I started my manga marathon right away...

I have watched, and finished the anime. I was happy yet, dissatisfied, or rather, disappointed that they ended it that way. I am still not losing hope of having season two. After all, the saga still continues...

From here on, I will try will my all to give you a proper review of this manga. I am no good at writing, but I hope that when ever you come across this, you will find it helpful or at least a worth reading D.Gray-man manga review, even if I only use simple words....

From the first chapters, Hoshino Katsura's style is that of a a little"moe-type". Seeing Allen, he was tooo adorable for a 15-year old kid :). Eventually, as the story progresses, the plot intensifies, also does Hoshino's drawing follows. I was amazed at how a woman was able to draw and do this shounen manga. Without knowing when it started, I became her fan, and still am, of course. But while reading the manga scans (yes, I admit that I read manga scans but I do buy manga volumes), I noticed that there were announcements made my scanners and translators that "it will be a while before we release the next chapters" and the likes. Then I found out that it was put on-hold several times due to various reasons. And maybe, that explains some changes in Hoshino's style, after that major incident in the main Black Order's HQ. I must admit that at some parts, I noticed that there little awkward drawings on them, but then again they get better as the story goes on again. I also must admit that that Hoshino's talent of visualizing is just so jaw-dropping. Amazing artist I must say. I disagree to those who criticize her that she can't draw combat or action scenes that well. Whatever, I guess we really have just our own opinions.

Story wise, I believe that Hoshino's story is a unique one. I was impressed how she used some of the Biblical names and incidents and interpreted them on her own. The story gets better as you progress, and the other characters hold interesting stories themselves. You'd also find your self crying or touched over some adventures that Allen and the gang encountered, you just can't help but symphatize with them. After that HQ's major incident, Hoshino, as it seemed, didn't hold her self back and did some major plot explosions, I thought my heart was going to explode too. She revealed shocking, er, revelations, and did some enormous combat scenes, as well as unmasked other's true identities.

Seeing that it is an on-going manga, I am looking forward for more heart-wrenching, mind-blowing turns on this story. I believe that our cute protagonist, Allen Walker, has still a lot to go through, this is far from over folks.

(This is my first officially published review. I'm not as good but I do pray that I did okay. This is still open for changes) I might just do some over the next few days, when I get better.)
