Still not feeling 100%, my throat is almost completely better but I'm really congested still. The kids and Kelly are both sick with the same thing now. Lurgi strikes Deltona. (ehhh... yakka boo).
Tried the new rifle out on Sunday. Got a nice cluster every time around the bullseye at 50 yards but ran out of time before I got to try 100 yards. The person shooting next to me happened to be a competition shooter and fellow Mosin-Nagant owner so let me try some of his home made ammunition which each hit within 1". Very interesting person to talk to, I learned an awful lot about how to select the right ammo and properly configure the sights. Will have to take it to the gunsmith at Gander Mountain to find out what is wrong with the receiver, the various forums suggest it's a common problem with the bolt on these vintage rifles, and a simple fix (about $40-50). The extended warranty is going to work out nicely for this.
Squidward died of motherboard failure. The machine is from 1998 and was a throwaway made up of spare parts so I really can't complain. It does mean I'm currently using the old Gary (which is only a 2xPIII-650Mhz 256Mb machine) so everything is running really slow. Upgrading the memory this weekend should help. I guess I need to bite the bullet and buy a 21st century computer :-D (my fastest machine is my work laptop at 2Ghz!, Squidward was a 1.4Ghz celeron). Have a nice pile of salvageable parts at least.
