Hajimemashite!
I figured I should have something written here. So here's a bit about the random person who friended you ^^

How I got into Arashi

I watched one or two episodes of Hana Yori Dango on YouTube, but it got deleted before I could get any further and I wasn't overly distraught. After that, I think I watched Stand Up!, but at the time, I didn't really like it as much as other dramas I had seen. Some time later, I watched Kimi wa Petto and loved it. It took me about three episodes to even wonder where I had seen Matsumoto Jun's face before and had a total reaction when I realised, so promptly went and downloaded Hana Yori Dango in its entirety. I was awestruck by Jun's acting abilities; he played both characters so convincingly.

My sister wanted to watch Yamada Taro Monogatari, so I downloaded it for her, and watched it as well. "Hey, look. It's that guy out of Stand Up!" At first I didn't like Sho's face in YTM because he looked so grumpy. I wondered why on earth they'd chosen someone like that to play a character who was supposed to be "princely" and made all the girls faint, but some episodes later (when his character is allowed to smile) I started to warm up to him. I decided to check them out on Wikipedia and lo and behold! They're all part of a band! From the Wiki, I was intrigued by Sho's profile which says that he raps, so I searched him on YouTube. *cue flood of hilarious Arashi clips*

I was determined to find the whole episodes of the Shukudai-kun series from the snippets I had seen. I'm so glad that Arashi has such an amazing fandom that can really feed the flailing fangirlism :D

Jun is probably still my favourite. Although I wasn't strictly Jun-baited, it was the combined efforts of Jun/Sho/Nino, so I watched for them on the shows mostly. Ohno and Aiba? At first I didn't pay much attention, Ohno is kinda quiet and vague and Aiba is well, the opposite Ohno has probably become my second favourite after hearing his amazing voice, seeing his spectacular dancing and amazing artwork, and being endeared by his fearless tasting of borderline foodstuffs and reliable

I'm watching Kindaichi 3 and Gokusen. I was given Kisarazu Cat's Eye aaaaages ago but haven't felt the compulsion to watch it until now I know who is in it. I've acquired all the Shukudai-kun that's available and wishing hard for more to be subbed because I love seeing them all together and interacting, am following all the D no Arashi releases and have started Mago Mago Arashi by watching all the Kodomo no Bangohan installments. Of course there are other bits and pieces as well that have pushed my internet connection to the max ^^

Other less interesting stuff

- I'm a 22 year old Chinese girl born and living in England (so I reserve the right to spell things the Brit way :P).
- As well as French and German, I have studied Japanese at high school level. Knowing some Chinese helps, but does not make it a free-ride!
- I read manga, and watch anime and all manner of world cinema.
- I love Japanese food and sometimes cook it, or at least attempt it; it's a learning curve ^_^;
- I like to play about with origami now and then.
- I've been to Japan once with the Japanese class, lead by our sensei, and have plans to go again soon, some time this year. Nov 2008 Edit: Been again! Yays!
- I have several friends who have gone on to study Japanese at degree level, and regularly received "care packages" from one of them during her year abroad so that I could revel in an array of exciting KitKats.
- My (other) favourite Japanese artist is Shiina Ringo.
- Sometimes when I've watched too much Japanese language stuff, I turn on the TV and it takes me more than 10 seconds to understand English again. I also find that I use Japanese speech patterns when I'm talking to someone in English.
