When reading the comments given to this story, I have been surprised at the emotions with which some of them have been written, and the way they try to influence the story. May I remind you that Chapter 1 begins with the fable of the blind man and the elephant, and I think that some of the comments that have been given are just based on parts of the elephant; you don’t have the full picture yet. Why not wait until the puzzle is complete before you do or don’t comment on what you perceive as possible errors in the story. But first and foremost, it is Harpomarx’s story, her narrative, her interpretation, and only she has the overview; and I think some of the comments do not show the author and her story the respect they deserve.
Furthermore, even in the series various situations are open for more than one interpretation, we will all read the reactions of the persons involved the way we personally interpret them; and please, it is fiction, and not a scientific paper. Besides, there are lots of stories in the fanfiction database that are miles away from the series (without mentioning AU; Wilson/House stories for example), and I have not seen such emotional reactions to details in those; there it is just accepted the way the author wants to tell the story.
So, why not enjoy this (in my opinion) excellent story the way it has been written. Be glad that you get a really well written story about a character you love reading about. I have the feeling that when we have all the pieces and the elephant is completely in view, we may yet be in for a surprise.
