CHARACTER STUDIES

This group of Character Studies is a collaboration between priority and zeppomarx. In the cases where the character was created by priority, zep's interpretation of the character will follow the creator's.

I'm enjoying them on two levels...the first as they add background characterization for the story and give us a better idea of what motivated the person in their actions.

The second is to be able to see how you've fleshed out the characters as a writer, knowing their backgrounds and then why they'll react certain ways to the stimulus introduced to them in the story.

To me, one of the most interesting characters was Jacey Liu. I purposely didn't include any of her (very interesting) background, although it was in my mind all the time. I wanted her to be detached enough that the focus would always be on House and Rainie, with Jacey merely guiding them along. But I also wanted it to be apparent that she was obsessed (I've used that word a lot today) and determined, and was not going to let them down if she could help it.
