Slash of GNR moonlights as NFL player

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (AP) --
Rock star Saul Hudson, better known as Slash, might
just be able to quit his day job.

The guitar virtuoso, who became famous in the 1980s and
90s as a member of the band Guns N Roses, was spotted
Sunday playing safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers, leading
his team to a 20-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

The Steelers' defense forced three Packers turnovers which
the offense was able to convert into 17-points, including a
77-yard fumble recovery that Slash returned for a
touchdown.

In recent years, Slash has expanded his resumé beyond
the music world, playing himself in the animated television
series Kid Notorious. However, this marks his first
foray into professional sports.

Slash, who was apparently attempting to go incognito by
wearing a jersey with the monicker "POLAMALU" across the
back, could not immediately be reached for comment.

The win today brought the Steelers to 6-2, where they
remain a half game back of the Cincinnati Bengals in the
AFC North. The Packers dropped to 1-7.
