Two nights without decent sleep... oog. I downed a caffeiney beverage and I still feel like my skull is thin.
Back in DC with a vengeance! Even though I made all these grand announcements that I was going to set everything up for when I got back, sliding into the monotony of scheduled life once again, that totally Did Not Happen, and between the frantic packing yesterday/frantic realizations of how much I have to do before tomorrow and Wednesday, I feel woefully unprepared for the new semester. Maybe not woefully. Uncomfortably? I don't know. I forwent a haircut this morning in favor of actually printing out employment forms and shopping for textbooks. Damn this responsibility part of the grad school experience!
Anyway, I only have one class Wednesday morning, work meetings Tuesday and Thursday for a couple hours, and otherwise I'm totally free until Tuesday the 19th. What was the point of me even coming back so soon?? (There are certainly people I wanted to see, but logically speaking, I mean. Namely, I spend a lovely night last night with The Fellow, hence the lack of sleep. We talked about feelings!)
It is time for me to make an Executive Decision regarding one of the New Year's Resolutions. I said I wanted to learn an instrument; I have a tinwhistle at my apartment; I cannot play it very well at all, and know very few songs; therefore, that will be my instrument of choice. mafia_bartender, I'll time it for when you're out of the apartment; the_orange_lady, I want to bother your dad about it on Spring Break. ^_^ And hopefully the downstairs neighbors playing Rock Band at all hours of the morning and whaling on their punching bags won't mind a bit of squeaky music coming out of my room. If I had the money, I'd take up guitar instead.
Do I have anything left to say? Not really...
Spring Break is March 4th to March 15th and Easter Break is March 31st to April 6th. Very much looking to do some kind of mischief on either of these, preferably elsewhere in the country/in another country. New Orleans? Canada? Europe? Anything? I seek ideas!
