Okay... So another thing we did for the HPFF House Cup 2010 was a blogging contest where we had to choose one of these questions and write a blog on it:
1. If you had the opportunity to have dinner with JK Rowling, describe your ideal experience. Where would you go? What would you discuss with her? Are there any particular questions you'd ask her?
2. If you could be any character in Deathly Hallows for one day, which character would you choose and why? Which day in the character's life would you choose to live?
This was the first blog of any sort I wrote, and it kind of got me into blogging, so woop for the House Cup! =D
I've picked the second option to talk about - mainly because I'm sure if I got to have dinner with JKR I would have no idea what to say and she'd probably think I'd been hit with a silencing spell
So here goes: "If you could be any character in Deathly Hallows for one day, which character would you choose and why? Which day in the character's life would you choose to live?"
If I could experience any day in Deathly Hallows it would probably be the day when Voldemort was killed, assuming I didn't die before hand. To be in the Great Hall as Harry whips off the invisibility cloak and everyone discovers he is alive, and then feel the tension as Harry and Voldemort as they circle each other - with the things Harry says giving you hope that somehow he might win - would be amazing! As to a person - obviously Harry has the biggest victory so it would be cool to be him, but I don't think I would have the knowledge/experience and bravery to do what he did. Neville is also an option - the leader of the school's rebellion - but again I don't think I would be brave enough to continue fighting even when all hope seemed lost. Argh! I can't pick someone! I'd just be anyone - some anonymous character who can stand and watch Voldemort be killed by his own Curse! And be around to celebrate afterwards.
Other moments I would love to experience would be the Epilogue at Kings Cross. Or even be one of Harry's kids. Actually, I'd probably be Rose... but that's going off topic. I would be funny to see Voldemort when he discovers his Horcruxes are destroyed, but its highly unlikely that I would survive to laugh at him
On the other hand: the person I would hate to be would be Snape - he has to keep in with the Death Eaters by killing and descriminating against muggle-borns and muggles, his work is so secret that not even the leaders of the side he is really on are allowed to know his true self, and he even has to fight them to maintain his cover.I just wouldn't be able to cope - I'd probably run away and forge myself a new identity on the other side of the world!
