USA Holiday - Days 13-15 - Viva las Vegas!
Last entry - we're off home tomorrow!
Wednesday 20th July
Checked out of the hotel and drove around Los Angeles a bit before going to the airport to catch our flight in the evening. Good view of the desert and Las Vegas from the plane! Checked in to the hotel and then went out to see what the strip was like - lots of people dressed up who want money for having your photo taken with them, and lots of people trying to give all the men (surely in this day and age they should be thinking equal opportunities!) leaflets about 'hot sexy chicks'!
Thursday 21st July
Went out for a bit to look at the other end of the strip in the daylight - saw the lions in the MGM Grand, which wasn't particularly interesting because they were asleep! Came back and sat by the pool along with a load of drunken people (seriously - the point of Vegas seems to be to just drink ALL the time!) before having an early night.
Friday 22nd July
Got up at 5am to go on a tour of the Grand Canyon! (There were just as many people awake in the casino as during the day!) The Canyon itself was awesome, but the tour was disappointing because we thought we had paid for a flying tour and a tour of the rim, but we only got a short tour of the rim.
Back home tomorrow, which I'm quite ready for, although home will feel very cold and dreary and boring! It'll be good to see all my friends (I'm supposed to be going to a party on Sunday night after we get back!) and go see Harry Potter again! =D I've had a great time, and I really hope to be able to come back to some of the places we've been to at some point with friends (especially the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!).
