Overplayed music

And while I'm on the subject of the Virgin Radio Classic Rock stream, I just have to say that I love this station. They dust off the REALLY buried tracks. I have certainly NEVER heard a U.S. radio station play Pink Floyd's 'Remember A Day', it just doesn't happen. And I happen to like pre-Dark Side PF. They'll play tracks from Free that AREN'T 'All Right Now'. OMG what a freakin concept! I get bored with hearing the same stuff all the time. When local radio tries to tease you with 'so n so coming next!', you can pretty much guess what they'll play. More often than not I tend to turn off the radio and just play stuff from my own collection, because then I can hear those deep songs that never get airplay.

It's sort of what I was doing way back when with my pseudo-college radio show, 'Hidden Treasures'. I'd play whatever I felt like music-wise, combined with comedy tracks as well. As far as I'm concerned, it actually worked! Once I got in the groove with my themed shows, I was unstoppable. I really miss those days, it was fun. Maybe my sets were a bit limited by my not super-huge collection, but I did manage to cover a bit of ground.

Ahh, memories...

P.S. Though I have noticed the VRCR stream plays an enormous amount of Public Service-type pro-condom messages, in practically every break. I may have to change to another station on my SL store land. Kinda doubt my customers are all that interested in hearing about that while they are shopping for virtual clothing.
