I fulfilled my duty to my country - as a CONSUMER!

The trench coat I ordered for my mission came in the mail today. I'm tempted to put it on and go walking after dark and see how many people call the cops on me. My parents, however, informed me that being arrested right before I leave is probably not a good thing. I'll just have to wait till I get back.

I've purchased a fair number of items lately. In the last few days I've purchased a digital camera, a memory card, a battery, a carrying case, portable speakers, gym shorts, and iron-on transfer paper (to label all of my clothes).

In the last month or so I've bought two suits, two pairs of shoes, three million white shirts, and a number of other clothes and random accessories.

Suddenly I'm very grateful for the job I had (and helpful parents).

I'm not sure whether or not I'll be able to keep updating this journal when I'm out on my mission. I know I won't have internet access the first couple months, but I'm unsure of the exact rules during the time after. I know I'll be able to e-mail my family and only my family, but perhaps I will be able to update this too. I've seen missionaries keep blogs before, so cross your fingers and maybe you'll hear from me weekly.

If you're really dying to keep contact with me, you could always write. Let me know if you're interested. Letters from friends would be marvelous
