So, stuff happened...
Ok, first, wackiness: Somebody on Buzzfeed did a quick hit on "Quilts for Geeks" and the Snape quilt I made for a fan exchange way back when was featured! Not only featured, but recipient of a snarky comment, too! (If you want to skip straight to the quilt, here.) Thanks for the tip, Diz!
Maybe I should be setting up Google Alerts for things like that.
I really enjoyed the latest Doctor Who, but have let Torchwood fall by the wayside a bit. My current Netflix consumption has been mostly X-Men cartoons.
I'm taking Latin again this semester. A 300-level Livy course this round, in a class of 15 students. It's certainly interesting reading again consistently.
I'm working on my first "Woman of Science" illo but it's not going as well as I would like, mostly because I'm having trouble figuring out how to render mathematical equations in the way that I would like.
I went to see Charles LeDray's workworkworkworkwork at the MFAH and it was totally amazing. I wish the photos had something in them for scale, because the size of the art is half the appeal. His miniature works are beautiful, compelling, and fascinating. I really recommend the exhibit, if it comes to a museum near you.
Today is Houston's birthday! This is a really great place to live and work, and I think that Houston often gets a bad rap in the media, so yay for 175 years. If you had to build a city in a swamp, at least you built well and created a fantastic place for the arts, sciences, and recreation.
Work has been crazy, but now at last I have my (temporary, but long-term) cohort with whom to split duties a bit. Everybody is stressed, but we persevere.
I have been just blowing off blogging because I keep forgetting and then things happen and I forget again and other things happen... but I do miss it. I should try to be more consistent, especially if I plan to post fandom stuff soon. I hope that I'll be back in the art-making business soon, now that my poor darling tablet has had her surgery and come back in beautiful working order.
Tempted to do some Merlin-at-Hogwarts!AU art after following yesterday's tweets, but also tempted by some other items. And of course I have to finish my Latin homework. Hahahahahaha.
Oh, Latin.
What else have I done lately? If you know, remind me! (Oh, I did finish a Big Bang - should be posting on paperlegends tomorrow, I guess?)
