quick hits

I should be writing... trying to get Connor kidnapped, letting some stuff roll around in my brain, plus looking at Paris street maps. Fun times!

I did have an excellent birthday weekend and it continues into the week!
Went out for a late lunch with mom and dad and my aunt, had a lovely time. We ended up hanging out telling family stories and chatting until late in the evening. Had a great breakfast with Donna plus antiquing. Then Mom and I spent Sunday afternoon at the MFAH at the two current exhibitions of John Singer Sargent paintings.  OMFG I LOVE SARGENT SO MUCH.  Guh.
I want to just wrap myself up in his canvases until the brilliance rubs off.

Also watched a couple of films.
The Invention of Lying, with Ricky Gervais, which was actually really good, amazingly touching and lovely. I did not at all expect that from the preview, which just goes to show that previews are ridiculous.
Persuasion on Masterpiece Classic, which was nice, in an understated way. The guy who played Wentworth (Rupert Penry-Jones) was quite lovely, plus bonus Alice Krige, Anthony Head, and Tobias Menzies.

Yesterday I went to an art demo from Prismacolor at Texas Art Supply, and my name was drawn for a door prize, yay!  Then at the Tarot Meetup later my name got drawn for a door prize again!  Awesome.  I definitely want to take more classes to work with Prismacolor, although I passed on this semester because of travel and various other things. And I am looking forward to working with my new decks, especially The Fifth Tarot, which has five suits. Fun!

I'm pondering my next move in the "Create a Con Art Show Display" project for ApolloCon.  I need printable digital art, or finished paper art, with boards or mattes.

And now I should really get back to Connor. Can't leave the poor boy hanging for another week.
