Last night was my uncle's annual White Elephant party, which I had forgotten until yesterday morning. Oops.
This year was different, though, because so many of our relatives were sick, so it was only me and my mom and two of my cousins and their families at my uncle's house. Instead of playing the White Elephant game with so few of us (and because Mom really doesn't enjoy it much anyway), we just chatted over dinner and then Mom, my uncle, my two cousins and I played
Ticket to Ride three times over the course of the evening.
It's a fantastic game, played with the draw of cards, in which you try to lay railroads through the United States before the other players block your lines. Great fun, based on a German game that might also be fun to get later.
