Mom has declared that if there is no baseball involved, then the science fiction can't be spiritual, so that list we were talking about earlier? Totally wrong. Except Sisko, of course. And Babylon 5, thank goodness ( Read more... )

Hello, fellow Luddite. =)

I'm holding off until next week - or rather, I am TRYING to hold off until next week - so that I don't have to scream with frustration when the first part stops.

Mmm, Babylon 5. I *just* finally managed to get my greedy little hands on the full collection of B5. I'm planning a full rewatch session very soon... and I've never seen season 5. The housemate who collected it moved out before it was released.

yeah, with the screaming in frustration.

We are just about to start B5 Season 5 over here. Should be interesting, it's the one I remember least.

Your mother is a wise woman.

Oh! When I was a kid I read this book about aliens who accidentally crash landed on Earth in their baseball-spaceship, and the nonathletic kid of the Little League team had to hit a home run to help them get home.

Sisko. Ah, Sisko. His definition of linear time using baseball will always be one of my favorite moments of Star Trek, ever. And baseball...the only other sci-fi show I know with baseball is Eureka. It's not particularly spiritual, though there was that one episode where this weird portal to the multiverse recreated a bunch of biblical plagues.

Doctor Who...just...oh. I can't even think about "The Stolen Earth" or "Journey's End" for at least another month. Too much pain. (Though you might want to give some thought to watching somewhere that's not the SciFi channel. They cut SO. MUCH. I wrote angry emails about how they treated the season three finale.)

Seconded the above - I hear Sci-Fi cuts all the good parts out!

Must... not... say... anything... about... Journey's End... grr...

I'm almost afraid to ask but where would I get unexpurgated copies of these things? I know nothing of the various downloading places...
Are the US release DVDs complete, do you know?

Thanks!
