Even thought St. Patrick's Day is already over, my mother advises wearing green tomorrow to avoid getting pinched. The date is too firmly wedged into the cultural consciousness for the Feast Day itself to actually have any bearing on celebration, and all.  Amusing.
I didn't know that Irish Catholics got a special exception on St. Patrick's Day for corned beef and cabbage during Lent, either. You learn something new everyday.

Mmm, corned beef and cabbage. Now I'm hungry.
