out and about

So here I am in lovely Seabrook, TX, down by Clear Lake and the Bay.  If it weren't so overcast it would be a perfect beach day, although it probably only gets windier near the coast. It's about 80 degrees out, a little muggy but the wind cuts through that.
I came out early to draw and hang out in a coffeehouse, but I'm meeting a student for a Vassar admissions interview in a little while.
I'm contemplating staying out for a bit, but I still have stuff to do at home. I'm *so* close to finishing my quilt, but trying to iron the border edge had me extremely frustrated last night. We have very limited amounts of big empty flat space, and at the moment the sewing machine itself is taking up most of it.  Anyway, I think it will be easier now that I've had a break, and I think I'll make it a narrower border, which will also be easier.
Now back to illustrating.
