So I went to see Avenue Q on Thursday and that was awesome. I finished The Devil card on Friday. I went shopping Saturday, then to lunch with Donna and some friends of hers who may need an interfaith minister for their wedding. There was much fun had after business concluded, and an exchange of Wizarding Rock CDs. Hee. Mom and Hillary went to the jewelry show while I was being ministerial, and regaled me with tales of the gorgeous jewelry-art they saw. Apparently there was a lot of pirate-themed stuff, too. I shall look forward to the next show, but I think it is wise for me to conserve my funds for the Quilt Show (yaaaay!!). Sunday was the Nanowrimo Houston Kick-Off Party, and I won the door prize for being the longest-participating Nano-er. The prize was a set of hand-knitted wrist-warmer gauntlet things. Very awesome. I also got a trunk full of swag because I am the local coordinator for the area where I work, so my Municipal Liaison gave me all the stuff for write-ins. Fun times.
I've been so much more active in Nanowrimo from a social perspective in Houston, already, than I ever was is NYC, but this year I am actually confident that I will write. I may even win, for once. I have a very cool group of people rooting for me.
Also, Saturday evening I did a little Halloween-esque illustration for romance-minded friends in the Lupin/Snape chatroom I frequent, which folks can see
here. Please note, it's the world of Harry Potter, it's slash, the characters are adults (in the books), and it's not explicit. (I have already squicked one person with the pairing, but oh well. We can't all be Snape/Lily shippers.) But there is a Regency-style cravat. Mmmm, cravat.
