Here's my opinion of the dream, please disregard if it doesn't agree with you.
THe little girl is you, more specifically that part of you that you have the least confidence in. Your hopes, fears and worries are embodied by her and her illness. Something is trying to tell you to ease off yourself and that things will be ok if you let it. The circle of doubt must be broken.
