Batman is fucking back!
Well, I saw Batman last night and....
It was fucking ace!
They actually did have Joe Chill kill Bruce's parents instead of the Joker. The new Batmobile was badass and it was nice to see that there is finally a film that can still be good these days that doesn't have to rely on CG in every freaking scene. There were a few shots with CG, but most everything was done with practcial effects. I can't wait to see what they do with the Joker.
I only had a few issues with the movie and those were pretty minor. At one point during the film, a guy in a bat suit actually came into the theatre and beat the shit out of several people in the front row followed by launching a Batarang into the eye of the guy in front of me. When I heard how Nolan and Goyer were striving for "complete realism" I didn't know that they took things that seriously. Also, Batman seemed to have some kind of thing going for this little boy in the slums and when he started asking the kid if he'd like to "play Robin and let good ol' Batman see how big his bird is", I thought that the movie might have been taking things a bit far. If anything, those would be my only real problems with the film in question.
