8 more days!
I am so looking forward to this trip out to Toronto, for many reasons:
- Get to hang out with Rich and Kathy one last time for a long while.
- It's Toronto!
- Going to G2
- Get to hang out with h_ades at G2
- Get to be one of the first people that gets to see Rich and Kathy's new home in Mississauga.
- Get to be in Toronto for Canada Day.
I don't think the fact that Rich and Kathy are moving has really set in yet. Even though Kathy has been out there since April, she has been back here every weekend, so it doesn't even feel like she is gone. It is probably going to start hitting me as the weekend progresses. Having to say good bye to them is going to be rough. I am sure going to miss those two.
This past weekend was pretty fun. Friday I went for bike ride down to the forks. Caught the last couple of songs from this Rolling Stones cover band. When the band finished this guy started doing a show (The Dan Show). Juggling fire sticks and machetes, and a contortion trick. The tricks were nothing really that impressive as I have seen them many times before, but the guy was full of energy and delivered them quite well. At the end of the show I went to meet keekapunk at her work. From there we went to gigglez_ place for marleyboy and Dennis' bday party. Didn't stay to long, as I had to be at the collective to play a set for Liquid Groove. I played a few records at gigglez_ before heading out to the collective. I played 3:30 to 4:30 at L.G. My set was alright, had a couple of issues with the monitor. Before my set I hung out with keekapunk, nubule, Jarret, Graham, and Mel (I feel like I am missing someone.
Saturday I played at Vinyl Fantasy 5. This set didn't go so well. I had a very hard time hearing my mixes in either the monitor or my head phones. Was using a Xone 62, which I have used before with out any problems, but this time just wasn't working for me. Maybe it was the heat. After my set I pretty much stayed out side the venue chatting with Jarret, keekapunk, and a few other people. I had a lot of fun just hanging out chatting with people. Meet up with Rich & Kathy just before Rich's set. After he played Rich, Kathy, and keekapunk came over to my place for a little while.
Sunday was spent resting for the most part. Meet nubule for breakfast. Then went back home to nap. Then headed to my parents to visit and see their new place. Went to see Mr & Mrs Smith with geekboi at 7. I found the movie entertaining, even a couple of good laughs from time to time.
All in all a pretty fun weekend. Got to hang out with and get to know a new friend over most of the weekend witch was unexpected, but a lot of fun.
