...there were no classes for me, so I put together a starting round-up of 20 potential resources for my dissertation project and did a good four pages of brainstorming & plotting. Several exciting possibilities sprang up and I am jazzed to see how they may pan out. I think it safe to say I'm finally past the post-acceptance-euphoria mire of quiet freaking out and insidious self doubt that let slide entirely too much of the spring. Thanks due most recently to Dark Karl for giving me the buttslap I needed over that. Inertia is for inertia-babies.

During the afternoon the junior high band across the lot started warming up. I don't know how it came about, because I certainly haven't heard them practicing this at all, but they pulled out a pretty fantastic rendition of the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean :D

And the small stack of culture class worksheets that was my only job-related work today yielded this piece of misspelling gold:
