(29)Thanks; I have a Candy Cane problem

Dec 29, 2008 22:45

I've done pretty well with candy/sweets this year.  I learned a lot about portion control and knowing when to stop eating and what foods are bad.  I went a little extreme and cut entire animals out of my life (cow).  But I can not stop eating damn candy canes!

It started around Christmas, I guess.  I was at my brother's place and they had them all over.  ALL OVER.  They were Chocolate Candy canes.  Then Fion was given an entire box of regular candy canes for Christmas, but she didn't want them.  So I took them.  I'm pretty sure I've eaten them all throughout this weekend.

Anybody who has hung out with me this weekend can probably testify that they can remember me eating at least one candy cane.

They're so easy to eat!  Just something to hold, something that tastes good.  I remember a problem for smokers is that it's nice to hold it so your hand has something to do.  My problem is that I can't stop holding candy canes!

So it's late Monday, and I'm on my 6th candy cane or so of the day.  We still have a whole tree full of them!  Muahahaha!  All mine!

The problem is that about an hour ago, I tasted my breath.  You all know what I mean.  There was something in your mouth that smelled so bad that it was a taste.  Now, I brush my teeth and usually floss, but my breath smelled SO BAD.  Like garbage!  Of course, I've eaten other things today and maybe it's a reaction with the peppermint.  But just to be safe, I should probably cut back on the candy canes.

They're just so tasty.  I might need a 12 step program!

Although I'm sure once I run out I'll just kick the habit.  I mean, who sells candy canes year round?  And no, I don't want to eat just those regular peppermint mints that they give you after dinner.  It has to be in the hook shape.  That way it can hang out of my mouth, which allows me to look like a fool in public while I accidentally drool all over myself.

thanks, nablopomo, december
