Congrats on the engagement! I've been reading your fiance's blog and some of her friends for a while, wanted to extend my best wishes!

Thanks... When I first saw your comment (not yet having read it), I thought "WTF! Who the hell is that?", but then I asked my lady and jumped over to your info... So, you've been writing for Flying Buffalo? Great!!! The final thesis for my master was on RPG, since I'm playing "fulltime" since almost 17 1/2 years... I've even written several Anime-based rpg for use at the AnimagiC (Germany's biggest Anime convention)... :)

Well then, welcome to the ride. It's always good to flip the coin and take a look at both sides, and since you already know my "other side"... ;)

A thesis on RPG? How cool! So what is your degree in?

Yeah, I did some time at Buffalo, as did several people on my flist. I have my own game company, Spare Brains Games, I'll be selling my first game, Zombie Cafe, in the next couple of weeks. I sent a copy of it to wuglet, I don't know if she's played it yet, but her friends have and greatly enjoyed it. I will also be releasing a game for free on my site once I get the letters giving me permission. And hopefully two or three more games by the end of the year.

I managed to obtain a MA in English philology, Medieval/Modern History and German philology, specializing in English literature, medieval History and medieval German...

Very nice! My wife is a PhD in astronomy/astrophysics, but I'm without a degree. I had a good work history and didn't really need one. But I'm working on one now, hopefully in photography and perhaps I'll actually get one in computers or computer security. The observatory that my wife works at is managed by New Mexico State University, so I get 6 hours free as a spousal benefit.

Now that's a nice benefit... I had to work really hard for my degree, having not help from state funds... Took me 11 years all in all, where 5 would have been "regular" and about 7 are normal...

I've been going to community (junior) college since 1978 when I was a junior in highschool (grade 11) but I never got a degree or went to university. Fortunately some of what I took take care of a lot of the minimum requirements at NMSU, I'll have an Associate's degree at the end of the year, I'll then focus on a Bachelor's or two.
