poem

Here I stand, upon the earth,
My mind above the sky
To leave behind my place of birth,
Brings tears to my eyes.
Where I go, I cannot guess
Where I’ll end is hard to see
My road, is mine to bless
My role is mine to be.

Long will I roam
So much is left to learn.
Perhaps I will arrive at home
Perhaps never return.
I do not know
I only dream
So far to go
In this grand scheme.
Whether only in my mind
Or on the face of Mars
I will not rest, until I find
My truth among the stars.
