So yes, I was able to go. And I'm now here. And it's ho-hum: fun at the same time but slightly nerve-wracking. I'm waiting for the shoe to drop.
Long haul flight with poor plane facilities. Lufthansa is certainly upon hard times. But the crew more than made up for it. They were pleasant, polite, and cheerful. Flying like this through Europe is faster than any Asian route over the Pacific. But the fastest routes is on Emirates via Dubai. Qattar Airlines would be similarly fast.
Fast and furious planning of FIL's 70th birthday is in progress. He's in protest. He doesn't want a big song and dance. Unfortunately for him, that's precisely what he's going to be in for: a song, a dance, and even a poem.
