I cannot even compare the difference that one year has wrought. I do remember being positive for the start of the new year last year, and the difficult, but nevertheless complete, break that the December trip gives added to the sense of renewed promise. However, the direction I wanted to proceed in was fuzzy. I wanted too many things all at once. I wanted everything to be perfect and in order and the schedule was so incredibly tight and busy...
...that I didn't even get a start on. The migraines and other pain defeated me and I succumbed and then limped along.
I did get some things under control: cooking regularly, marginally more-but definitely more-order in schedule, more activities for Wee, writing goals for me, and two very short vacays.
This year, I'm hoping to do much more with writing goals, YOGA!!, more of the short vacays, more cooking, an organized schedule, and by the naughty gods, organization in household. And somewhere in there, using yoga and cranial-sacral work as crutches to ease pain along and bring a little peace within and without.
Yesterday, in the car as we were driving home from art class, she asked me, "How are you feeling today?" For the first time in the longest while, I answered, without hesitation, "I'm happy." And then was struck speechless for a while, because I couldn't believe what came out of my mouth. Was that, me, Zen Scribe saying that I was H.A.P.P.Y? Wow! It really was. And echoed from the backseat was Wee's reply, "I'm joyful."
