I have started the process of getting Steve removed form my room. I realised that the few times I have been happy here was when he was gone for the weekend (he goes home about every three weekends, fortunately). Lisa, the woman in charge of such matters, was not in her office, so I took it up with another RA, being that my RA and Steve were good friends. He was shocked by what happened and contacted his RC almost immediately. He even suggested me contacting the campus police. I will be expecting an e-mail that will address this issue and hopefully have a meeting right after Thanksgiving break. My other roommate, Mike, wants him out as well, so I do hope that it is he who is forced to leave. It would be a pity for me, the one attacked, to be punished by having to move despite the fact that my other roommate wants me to stay. We will see what happens, but Steve does not know any of the events that are taking place around him.
On the same issue, I received an IM while at class today form someone I do not know. It reads as follows:
TimbersK105: I AM GOING TO KICK YOUR SORRY FUCKING ASS
This could account for why I am unhappy. Maybe it is because I find it difficult to feel safe in a place where people threaten me. These people are the assholes, most of the people I have actually talked to enjoy my presence. They have never even attempted to engage in conversation with me, so I do not know why they dislike me so.
I wonder why Jud has not replied to my e-mail re-requesting my job form last summer. I was extended an invitation to return, and I still receive a check for $0.00 every two weeks. My house was even called asking me to send in proof of American citizenship (government, how inefficient). I will try again when I return home, but I fear I may have too much free time (and very little money as a result) this winter break. I wonder if he is even still there (there have been government cutbacks in what has been deemed as useless "science for science sake"; damn "Dubya" and his tax cut, I am already a victim of the recession). Maybe this is a call for me to take my money I did not spend on Onyx (and the Dayton winterguard is not materialising well and march drum corps. The only problem is I would have to try out for most of them this weekend (I wanted to try out for Madison Scouts, but their audition is this Saturday and Sunday). Being that one ages-out at 21 (technically one can march so long as they are not 22 or older by finals). If this happens, I may try out for Troopers (another favourite of mine along with the Madison Scouts, Phantom Regiment, and the Santa Clara Vanguard), but they are out in Casper, Wyoming (at least I know I can make their guard, and they are division I to boot). I could also march a division II/III corps and still keep a summer job; to bad the closest is the Lehigh Valley Knights in Allentown, Pennsylvania. One of my favourite division III corps is Dutch Boy in Kitchener, Ontario, which is near my aunt and uncle in Buffalo, New York. I could find a job there and march Dutch Boy. Frankly, having seen corps on all three levels, I belong on either a lower-level division I corps (below top-12, like Troopers, but unlike Scouts) or a division II corps. The only problem with division II corps is that there are so few of them. The closest is Jersey Surf in Berlin, New Jersey, but they have auditions this coming weekend. Division II/III corps are weekends only with a two-week tour at the end of the summer. This would allow me to also pursue a job. We shall see.
On a pleasant note, I will be returning to a place I enjoy tomorrow, NoVA. I will leave by automobile with another engineering student and his father at 2:00PM tomorrow afternoon (I will pay for half of the gas) and will probably arrive at home around 1:00AM Wednesday morning. I am considering stopping by TJ (I believe it is a half day) to see Mr. Bell (he has had a rough time, he is now separated form his wife, does not have custody of the kids, and was forced to sell his boat, his biggest joy in life). I will send Wednesday afternoon on the phone making plans for the weekend. Ideally, I can spend Wednesday evening with my guard folk (KT, Kaia, Glenn, 'lissa, Nick, Jess if she wants to come, etc., etc., etc.). Thursday will be dedicated to Thanksgiving (where I will get some of my grandmother's homemade applesauce; nothing on Earth like it). I will spend Friday afternoon with Darius and Kevin, take a break from that to hopefully take Christina out, and then continue on my merry way with Kevin and Darius painting the town red. I want to go clubbing with Darcy and Jef on Saturday (which gives us time to do club research). My schedule is flexible, however. If something does not work out, I will just rearrange my plans. For people I did not mention (most notably Brenda and John, but also others like Natan), I more than intend to make up for it over winter break. I will most likely leave Sunday morning to return to academia.
