Quick beta/second eye?

Apr 28, 2011 01:21

Um, is anyone (or possibly a few) willing to give me a quick art beta? I just made a couple versions of the same piece and can't decide between the two.

Basically, I'm in need of an extra set of eyes.

Any takers?

You are amazing, thank you! \o/

Sherlock fandom, a sorta OC. It's up-in-the-air fanon whether she's dead or not, WE SHALL SEE.

So um. I'm trying to give off poshy class vibes while at the same time making you wonder, "Wow, I am not sure but her fashion choices make me think she's sorta off in the head! Is she wearing a curtain?" "Why yes I found it in the window."

So I wanted two different versions, one that represented Mummy, the other to represent Mrs. Holmes. At the moment there are two of Mrs Holmes, and I cannot decide. #1 at times too minimalist, #2 at times too New Frontier. IDK, SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BE FRENCH OR SOMETHING.

If I've done this correctly, only you and I have access to the pics right now. Safe!

She does look like she's slightly off posh.
Though for me nothing says posh like a fancy hat. Maybe one with that lovely purple trim?

Also, you don't have to put it on her head, it could be blown off. Then you would solve the problem with Troublemaker 1's minimalism background. I decided there was a breeze in your picture when I saw the ribbon from her waist blowing away.

I actually like 1 better that 2 ... for some reason 2's color just isn't working for me, but I agree that 1 is too minimal.

Did I help? I dunno if I helped lol.

No, you've definitely helped! <3

I know zip-all about hats, owning only a baseball cap and a Cactuar beanie, so I'll have to do a bit of research. Google French and/or English fashion shows/shoots featuring hats to get some ideas or something. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it work (I'm reluctant to mess with the hair although a side fit might do it!), but it's definitely a good idea so I'll give it a go. :D

Thank you so much! GTG to the office now; I hope you have a great day. ♥

I didn't want to mess with the hair either!! Which is why I thought it blowing off her head behind her would be a good way to get around the hair.
Lol baseball cap and a Cactuar beanie. You could also do a search for Kentucky Derby hats. That type pf style was what I immediately thought about. Especially since she is supposed to be quirky.

Oh man, take a look at some of the hats worn to the royal wedding today for inspiration.

Ooh! I saw a little bit tonight, and the hats are all madness! The housemates recorded the whole wedding procession, so hopefully they'll save the thing and I'll take out my sketchbook and things.

Interestingly enough, while the hats were wild, the outfits were very plain. It almost make me wonder whether I should make a plain-ish sort of hat in defiance of tradition. LOL. I suppose it's okay to show you some ideas once I have them?

Also, I very much like the idea of the hat blowing off in the wind, but I'm very lost as to how to portray it. In my head, the Mrs. Holmes pic is essentially my rendition of an artist's rendition of Mrs. Holmes. Sort of. Like the sort of thing you'd see in a locket but not really. IDK IDK. But basically um. I'd have to make it evident that the placement of the hat is very deliberate, especially if it is to be blown off.

Am I making any sense? HAHAHAHA.

Well you can always have a hat like Princess B

Definitely doesn't interfere with the rest of her hair. And Is quite eccentric.

I'll look at anything you throw at me! Lol.

Ah!! Like a locket photo!! I see, I see. Well you can have her hold the hat and just move her a little more to the center of the oval photo to fill up more of the space. Also when in doubt, throw a border around her. But I still support the hat idea, any high class British lady needs one! Hee!

ONE DAY THAT HAT WILL BE UNDERSTOOD. IT IS A RELIC OF OUR FUTURE.

My favorite comment: "Pretty sure that thing is a Stargate."

Woot! And why do you guilt trip me, Eleven? I- I- will be watching you soon enough. Stop smiling! IT IS NOT A LIE. D:

Yeah, exactly! The Mummy one reminds me of a toilet seat cover. Hee! xD

I very much think a hat would go well on her! Though I don't to make something that draws too much attention to the hat? Like, it is a part of the overall weirdness but isn't IN YOUR FACE eccentric? though now I really want to draw a silly version that plays off Princess Bea's hat. Like, THIS IS TOTALLY NORMAL HEADGEAR, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR TELEVISION SET. *Antenna!*

Lol, yes. She just was ahead of her time.

ELEVEN-so excited for tonight's episode. SO EXCITED!

Yes, I barely looked at Princess B's face so maybe a hat more like The Queen's but with that purple trim, just so it matched everything. Or you could do Victoria Beckham's hat which was by the same designer but much more manageable.
