Not to sound pathetic but

I cried at dialysis the other day. The nurse stuck me with the needle and I said, "Ow". Then things just got worse. I've been having a lot of pain lately. I just felt so beat.

Today I felt nauseous on the way to dialysis and my neck and shoulders were hurting. I wandered into dialysis and let them stick me and then dozed in and out of consiousness. When I got up my blood pressure wouldn't get high enough for them to let me go. On Wednesday I have to get there at 9:00 so I can try to get my heart tested again. I hope it all works out well. This is the last test before I get on the transplant list.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition featured a family who lost a son. The 16 year old had asked to become an organ donor and when he died in a car accident his family arranged for the donation. He saved four people's lives with the gift of his organs. Yeah. I broke down and cried. They talked about how he had touched people during his life and it was clear that he had given his death meaning, too. Fucking beautiful. The show arranged for the surviving family to meet one of the recipients of the donation, the young woman who recieved his heart. The family was gratified to know that a part of their son lived on and although they were still dealing with the tragedy of their loss and the trauma of the accident, they knew they had given hope to someone else.

Seriously, you guys, if you are able to donate organs please sign up and please make sure your family knows your wishes. The more organs that are available the less time I will have to wait on this interminable list. People die every day while waiting for organs to become available. My chances for long term survival diminish every day that I am on dialysis. Donate Life dot com's link is on my page.

I busted out my mom's circular needles and have started a little hat for a new baby. I hope I get it done before she grows up. It's slow going. Wednesday night is the knitting circle at Starbuck's but I haven't heard anything about Mel going. She had a busy weekend so who knows how she'll feel about going out. I have some questions about how to do some basic things. I need to see someone do them. I still want to have y'all come play crafts with me. Let me know if you're interested.

Jeff Goldblum has a tv series. I'm looking forward to it. I don't get excited about mass media often, but Jeff is an interesting actor who's just fun to watch.

One thing I love about LJ is that it's like having pen pals all over the world. And there's no hard and fast rules about having to write back or comment but you can if you want. And I don't know if anyone actually reads my ramblings, but it's exciting to leave your diary out on the front lawn for anyone to see.
