Today's drabble takes place after the big bang. Literally.

Apparently if you buy Empire from Coles this month you get a back-issue for free. Which is great for the new fans and people who don't collect, but pretty redundant for me. Oh well! I can live with having two issues of May 2007 Empires.

And now today's drabble.

Fandom: Fables
Characters: Prince Charming, Sinbad
Word count: 360
Note: As requested by ittykat, kind of. Spoiler warning for... the latest four issues? This is what I desperately hope think actually happened.

"I am not sure about this, Prince of Charmers, it seems... dishonourable."

"All is fair in love and war, my brother in arms, that's how the old adage goes. Now, I'm not sure if there is a Middle Eastern equivalent, but I do take the philosophy very much to heart, and you'd do well to follow it too. Of course, nothing is going to help you with the women in your realm, teasing, sultry things. They taught me Arabic, you know, not very well - women aren't very good teachers. They flirted with me with their come hither eyes, and their shawls that don't conceal anything, yet none of them put out."

"Put... out?"

"You'll learn soon enough. If you decide to stay in New York you will absorb certain things, almost all of them good, and... hngh... I think you'll enjoy them like I do."

"We shall rest, Prince, I insist. We have destroyed the final gateway, our mission has been completed."

"My mission is complete, you still have many responsibilities in the Mundy world."

"Yes, I will carry out my promise to you, although it makes me uncomfortable to lie."

"Don't think of it as lying, think of it as creatively and only slightly concealing the truth. Do I have to teach you what to say?"

"I do not believe it to be necessary, Prince."

"But it wouldn't hurt to make sure you do know what to say."

"I will, upon returning to Fabletown, pass on the news of your demise-"

"Especially emphasising my bravery to female Fables. Except my ex-wives. Well, maybe Briar Rose."

"-Especially emphasising your bravery to female Fables, excluding Snow White and Cinderella, while you are actually healing and exploring your surroundings in a as-of-yet undecided place-"

"I'm contemplating South America. I heard the women there are lovely."

"When you have had enough of that place, you will return to Fabletown, where the grieving women will greet you with all past grudges forgotten."

"You're a good man, Sinbad. May you be successful in all future tail-chasing endeavours."

"Tail... chase? I suspect this is another one of those phrases I will learn in New York?"

"Quite."
