December 5th...a date that will live in infamy...

Actually, that's really December 7th, but in our household, the 5th has some clout as well, as a newly minted 1 year old, decided that since she was a big girl now, she was going to walk. Yep, you heard right...not even 2 weeks after she turned one, she became a biped. A really good walker at that. No, no, no...no little steps for her, no walking a couple of steps between mom and dad...nooooooo. No, we need to walk the 20 feet down the hall, up onto and off of the carpet, to our playroom as our first walking.
We're in trouble...she's definitely on the "do nothing half-assed" track.

This also means rapid deployment of toddler-proofing measures around the main level of the house, including, but not limited to, fencing off the wood stove, moving wine out of the wine rack, plugging outlets, pictures moved higher, and just about anything 2 feet off the ground either has to be immovable, or unable to cause harm. Trinkets and decorations are the first to go, as they are shiny, and attract little people.
