The roots of the earth
Last night, at 5.43 a.m. the earth shook again. This time a lot more. Shindo 3 in all 23 wards. I was awake, reading my homework next to Koushi who was sleeping and not helping. Even if I'd been asleep, I'm sure I'd have woken up though. The door and window frames creaked, the lamp started swaying and I could hear the furniture rattling next door. I tried poking Koushi awake, but he just mumbled something. In the morning I checked the Meteorological Agency website. He was surprised. For one, he didn't remember me poking him, second, he's slept through shindo 5 in the past.
