We went to a lot of places yesterday, Mils' cafe, a noodle joint, an antique shop and the comic book store. I got absolutely amazing cufflinks at the antique shop, and they weren't unreasonably priced, by any means. A pair of rather simple and elegant brass and mother of pearl links, cute two tone metal snap links and an old Russian pair or cufflinks made out of silver coins. They're welded together from 15 and 25 kopek coins. Because the coins are joined together with the tails facing each other, the year of minting is illegible in the smaller 25 kopek coin. The 15 kopek coins are from 1865 and 1908.
Maikeru came over in the evening, and even though he mainly dozed with his head against the table, his presence gave me an excuse to ramble about Chris Evans. Because otherwise I'd have to talk to myself, and that'd be creepy. I've checked every library for Fierce People, including the Waseda libraries and the Tokyo Metropolitan Library. Apparently one must buy this book if one wishes to read it. Maikeru muttered that he's been trying to track down the movie with no luck. We then discussed the oddity of Chris Evans' career consisting of allegedly really great movies in which he's allegedly really great that practically no one has apparently seen on one hand, and some rather unfortunate movies which I suppose a lot of people have seen on the other. Or rather, I talked and Maikeru mumbled in agreement from time to time.
Anyhow, we're watching London at some point, I guess, because Maikeru has it. I expect to hate it bitterly, because I don't like drugs or pseudo-philosophical arguments, and the movie's supposed to be nothing but Chris Evans' and Jason Stathams characters snorting coke and arguing in a bathroom for it's whole duration. But what else am I supposed to do? Also, I've haven't talked to him about anything but Chris Evans since last week, and I have to specifically mention London for him to divulge that he has it... What's up with that?
We also had a bit of a discussion about whether or not there were muscle suits in Fantastic 4.
Maikeru: They're all wearing muscle suits.
Me: What?! Even Alba?
Maikeru: Yes. They all have muscle suits.
Me: But she's so muscular to begin with...
Maikeru: They all still have them.
Me: Even Ioan Gruffud?
Maikeru: Even him. Everyone.
Me: His is a subtle muscle suit.
My sister: What about the guy who's made out of rock?
I'm starting to suspect Maikeru secretly keeps an altar devoted to Chris Evans.
