"Then measure it, or tell us in what direction it extends"

The exams were absolute murder. By which I don't mean that had I studied for them they might've been pretty easy, but that no amount of studying could've prepared me for the kinds of insane questions there were in those exams.

I sent email to book myself a room for September, so I'll have a place to crash while I look for my own lovely little hole in the wall to call home. The place has strict standards, so they may in fact still tell me I'm not the kind of material they're looking for. They asked for a photo and a short self introduction. I wrote the following:
I'm a cheerful and very well-mannered person. Because I have a positive outlook, I get along with people easily. My hobbies are reading books and manga, sightseeing and studying japanese. I have diverse interests, and am very fascinated by new things.
It's a load of bullshit. But like I'm going to tell them that I'm a gloomy neurotic, dislike the sounds people make (like breathing), or that my hobbies include blogging about all the many things that I find aggravating at any given time. That'd be rather counter-productive.

When I touch down on September 1st at 1.10 p.m. at Narita, I'll still have almost 100 kilometers till I get to take a breather at the room. This distance will be covered first by the Keisei line Skyliner. I get such a kick out of the name, even though it's just a train like any other train. It doesn't, for instance, fly across the air. The Skyliner will drop me off at Nippori, from where I'll take the Yamanote line to Takadanobaba, which will also be my stop on my commute if I end up living along the Seibu-Shinjuku line. From Takadanobaba the Seibu-Shinjuku will take me to Kodaira, from where I'll take the Seibu-Hajima to Yasaka. Yasaka station is about a quarter of an hours walk from the Guest House. In all, the trip from the airport to the place takes a little over two hours with three transfers. I'll better have slept in the plane.

The room I'm eagerly trying to book is cheap because it doesn't get much natural light. But it's not too bad for a month. It may be the nicest place I'll have all year, who knows.

Chapter 7's progressing epic slow. It's gotten a lot better along the way, though. I've again become hideously boring.
