Independence!
Today (yesterday) we baked Christmas cookies. It's Finnish Independence day, and we traditionally bake cookies and more recently also go to my aunts for dinner. In recent years it has come to mean that I get drunk on Independence day.
I suppose it's not the most common excuse for drinking, but I can't be the only one who gets drunk to get rid of booze before someone who'd be a less pleasant drunkard can get at it. I do drink on occasions besides Independence day, but I drink in moderation, and slowly so as to be moderately drunk longer and prevent hangover. On Independence day I drink fast and everything. Then I'm drunk enough that I can't see straight and I'm worried about slurring and not getting shit that's said to me because I'm drunk out of my wits.
Man, I hate being utterly hammered.
