My vacation post, part two.

Ive decided to just make a new post instead of editing the old one. Wooties. Goodness, where should I begin...? My heater sounds like it's about to break. >.<
As usual, we didn't get to do some of the things we wanted to- mostly because one of us or the other had the car which meant one had to hang out at the house for a day while the other did they're running about. I got to see Adva and Ted for about 15 minutes in between trying to calm my son and having to rush out after Gwen was bitten by my dad's dog. I have the feeling that he got the wrong impression of me. I was mortified of course, but played it off in saying "oh well that's inconvenient". Of course I didn't mean it, I just have a weird sense of humor sometimes. Inappropriate? At the time, probably. Gwen didn't need stitches, thank goodness, and my baby girl was otherwise unscathed.
To my kidless friends: you guys will never know what it's like to have kids until you have them. Coming over to have a visit, going to the movies, visiting the mall or sitting in a restaurant is not like it was when we were kids. As much as I love you, having to wrestle one or both of them is a chore. Don't get me wrong- I love my kids. They are both sweet, good children, but they are just that, children. I'm sorry. Either of them are at a stage in their lives where they can sit somewhere for more than a few minutes at a time before becoming bored and antsy. Nonetheless, Ive earned the nickname "The Elusive Marcy", which I'm sure is not a recent endearment.
Other than a minor blow up between Jay and his mum the night before we left, the trip went according to plan until the packing/leaving day. Jay had to do school work, so the pack of two weeks worth of our things and car loading was up to me, as well as kid wrangling. After learning we needed to take Al into town, we ended up getting on the road at around 8pm. We drove for as long as we could before we were so tired that we ended up getting a hotel and getting some much needed sleep in an actual bed (not a blow up mattress that we'd used for the past two weeks). We hit a Waffle House and dug out early the next morning and arrived in Nashville around lunch time. Many hours of Rock Band was played, many munchies were had, and little sleep was gotten before we left for home just after lunch the following day.
We are still sort of reeling from the trip, but it was nice to go home for a while. I didn't have to end up jumping over a turkey to strangle someone, and no one broke any bones.
Good trip.
