Relationships and How's My Driving

Hey everyone! You may have noticed a few new OOC entries on the character journals. "What could these arcane scribblings mean?" you cry to the gods in despair.

As a mod, which is only one letter away from god, I, James, am here to answer your cry.

RELATIONSHIPS
As a convenient way to keep track of who's making out with who, we're encouraging relationship posts. At its core, this means a list of who your character interacts with, but we're leaving you free to expand on this. Add any extra information you like! Pictures, how your character feels about them, whatever. As far as my own creativity goes... well, it doesn't. But have a couple of examples!

Zero's relationships. Here's an example of a simple one. Pictures of the people Zero talks to or otherwise observes, the category he places them under, and a little bit on his feelings for each one.

Kanji's social links. This is slightly more creative but not really because I just stole it from another P4 character's journal. This one uses P4's mechanics to keep track of Kanji's relationships. It's a little inconvenient since it only allows for 22 relationships, forcing me to select only relationships Kanji can truly develop, but at the same time, it allows for some symbolism with the meanings of the Arcana and a little visual flair.

Ivy's relationships. Keeping with the theme of Soul Calibur, Ivy's relationship page talks about what is found inside each character's soul. That's way cooler than either of mine. ;_;

HAVE FUN WITH THESE! Or don't and half-ass it. Or just don't do it at all. It's a helpful tool for both yourself and other muns, but it's hardly something mandatory.

HOW'S MY DRIVING
Avoiding INCREDIBLE FRUSTRATION on how a character is played is always a good idea. We're all mature here whether we're adults or not, so we should be able to talk out issues over characterization with each other like mature people. So, it's a good idea to have "how's my driving" posts where other players can post questions, comments, and criticism.

ONE THING I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH: Be respectful. If you can, try to be nice too, but these are not for bashing or flaming another person's character. Mature, remember?

These are pretty simple. Here are two examples. The only real thing you should worry about is screening comments, the second drop-down box on the right column of your entry posting page with the tags and mood and all that neat stuff.

Once again, NOT mandatory. If you don't take criticism well, I'd suggest asking people to be especially gentle with you, but if you don't want that either, don't participate, because it's not necessary. This is a tool for people who want to hear from others on their character, and if you don't fit into that category, that's fine.

...If you're still feeling productive after all that, feel free to go write up a wiki article for your character(s). Or a player biography for yourself. Or pop into "zenithia" on AIM, where it's a party 24/7 unless we're not paying attention or sleeping! Ask someone if you don't know how to invite yourself to a chat. Or. You know. Roleplay. But who does that anymore?
