But, before he could sit down to rest, his Houndour started to seemingly yip at the sky.
"Eh, Hisha? What the hell are you looking at?", he asked as he turned to see what it was excited at. "...holy fuck, that is one giant bird."

Superman set down not too far away from them, his arms loaded with wooden beams and steel girders. He looked at Hidan and Hidan's puppy, his expression pleasant. However, internally, he was intensely curious.
This guy is such a contradiction. He's a homicidal cultist who thinks little of taking life in the name of his God and yet here he is with a cute dog, helping the citizens of the city rebuild?
Of course, Superman didn't officially know Hidan the way Clark did. So, he couldn't let on that he was having these misgivings. Instead, he set down the entirely too large bundle of supplies and walked toward the Ninja.
"Greetings - Good to see more people helping fix the place up." he said.

He shrugged. "Meh, I guess. Seriously, I'm only doing it because it's better than staying inside the castle all day and I get bored easily. But, as soon as I'm done helping, Hisha and I are going to explore the rest of the city. Maybe even train some more. Isn't that right, Hisha~?"
Said Houndour merely gave him a bark and wagged its tail. And then Hidan melted from the cuteness, the end.
"So, who the fuck are you?", the Jashinist asked. "I haven't seen anyone that could fly by themselves, unless it was a jutsu of some sort."

Seems an awfully constructive way to spend your time if you're just battling boredom, Hidan. he thought, wanting to probe a little deeper.
"That's an interesting looking Dog. I've never seen one quite like it."

"Dog? Oh! Hisha's no dog", he laughed as he bent down to pick Hisha up, "he's a Pokemon! Or, more specifically, a Houndour! I got him from a fr---person that's awesome to hang out with after I had gotten my Pokedex in the mail, so now I can finally catch and train Pokemon!"
He said it with such joy in his voice, but the way he was talking about the person that gave it to him, it seemed as if he didn't want to admit that he saw them as a friend. Well, at least the mystery of why he was screaming so much was solved.

"A Pokemon, Hmm? I have heard of those. Elemental creatures with powers and abilities often used in competitive battle. Owning one is a big responsibility."
He'd met Surge's Raichu, but of course, he wasn't about to tell Hidan that.
"As for my name, it was given to me by a friend of mine. My birth name is Kal El of the planet Krypton. And, if I might ask, what do you go by?"
Reply
"Kal El, eh~? You should do that instead of going by that lame-ass nickname. As for my name, it's Hidan."

He's a paradox - he doesn't want to call Surge a friend seemingly because he believes friendship to be a sign of wekness, but the way he's fawning over this puppy is amazing. There may be hope for him yet.
"You two seem awfully close. How long have you had him?"

"The people in this city come from so many times and places, it is hard for them to be too judgemental." He said. "While many might consider you a little off, imagine the kinds of people they may have seen in their own world and time. You may be the sanest person they've ever met." he continued, smiling reassuringly.
"And I can understand a dislike of money and those who seek it above all else." Lex Luthor came to mind, among others. "Many people have suggested that I charge money for what I do but I would never so much as humor the idea. I save lives because it's the right thing to do. I have no need to ask anything in return."

Well. That was a new one.
He couldn't help laughing to himself just a little. Hidan didn't think they'd see each other again and that was about as wrong as wrong got. Superman was glad to know there definitely was a human side to the Ninja. He did, obviously, have some measure of care for the feelings of others and as such, was far from iredeemable. It was just going to take some time, some work, and a keen ear pinned in him at all times to make sure he didn't get away with sacrificing anyone.
