Felicia giggled. "Aw, you're gonna make me blush!" she teased happily.

As the movie progressed, she pointed out the next major scene. "It's always so sad when I see this part," she remarked. "Where Danny tries to be all macho in front of his friends when he sees Sandy again? I don't like it when guys put on fronts like that. It's so dishonest..."

Jon nodded. She was right, of course... compared to how he was acting before it really was an unpleasant change. Though... it was hard not to empathise even just a little.

"...well.. it ain't always easy, is it?" he replied. "To say everythin' you might wanna. If you're not used to it or you're... y'know..." He gave a shrug. "Not that... well. Anyway." he finished lamely as poor Sandy stormed off upset.

"I suppose you're right," she said. "Well, later on you see he's really just vulnerable, seeing her there while he's with all his friends? I guess he freaked out. But still, I can't say I blame her for reacting the way she did!"

The movie continued on. And they came to the sleepover scene.

Jon nodded as she spoke. "I don't blame her either, just so we're clear."

As the movie progressed into the number about how chaste Sandy was, Jon wrinkled his nose a little. Sure... he could see how her attitude might be a target for scorn... but at this point in the film she seemed to be getting a raw deal. "Poor thing."

"Yeah... I mean, there's nothing wrong with being a virgin!" she chimed in. "But I guess it's just prevailing attitudes, huh? I mean, it IS supposed to be a period piece."

"Yeah... but you gotta feel bad for the lass." Jon agreed. If this was how humans generally treated their own... no wonder they gave other sorts a rough time of it.

"And no... nothin' wrong wi... well." He said, turning his eyes back to the film.

Felicia immediately started to blush. She suddenly realized the implications of what she had said and his response to it. "Oh, uh, sorry," she said apologetically.

Jon crossed his arms and gave a shrug... but his mouth was set in a smirk despite the slight redness of his own cheeks. "Don't be sorry." he replied quietly. Her admittance in trade for his own seemed fair enough, really, even if neither was exactly out-right.

He continued watching on, until the T-Birds showed up and Sandy's next song was sung.

Rather than press the subject of their respective sexual expertise or lack thereof, she found herself remarking, "You know, I bet Roger could learn a few things about being a man from Danny. I mean, even Danny eventually comes around in the end!"

"Roger could learn a few things about being a man from the average doormouse." replied Jon with a snort. "Given the opportunity, I'd teach him a thing or two myself... he's got a good spirit to him. Unfortunately, he's been doing it wrong for so long, that spirit needs to be broken and rebuilt from the ground up."

"You've got a point there," she told him. "I bet one day of you teaching his class, and the students would actually LEARN something."

Jon turned to look at her. She always seemed to have so much faith in him. It felt nice, really... so few others ever had. It was also a touch worrying that he found himself not wanting her faith to be misplaced. The only other people he'd ever worried about not dissapointing were his two students... and he'd suceeded with that. For the most part.

"...It's nice to know that you think so." he replied earnestly.

Felicia smiled at him. She didn't say anything else. She felt that gesture said all she needed to.

Soon, the next musical number began.

"I think this is the best song yet." Jon said, not taking his eyes from the screen, but moving his head closer to her anyway so she could still hear him. He didn't know anything much about cars or whatever, but he still enjoyed the enthusiasm of the guys talking about what that old bomb COULD do if they fixed it up.

"I love the energy!" she commented. "It's nice and hopeful, and it's got that Elvis feel to it!"

"It does, yeah..." John had never really been much into music. As was evidenced by his performance, or lack thereof, in Choir class. But he could appreciate this easily enough. His toe tapped up and down unconciously with the beat.
