The "cygnets and signets" part, or the magnificent part?

Cygnets and Signets came from a novel I was working on for 5 years. The novel finally died but I liked that bit of language so I recycled it.

The "Go to Where I'm Going..." subtitle is from Cocteau's film Beauty and the Beast.

I haven't read Kushiel's Dart yet but it's been on my list for a while now. Worth reading?

I think it's a fun bit of escapism - smarter than many, sexier than most (without disintegrating to bodice-ripper status). There's a little bit with "cygnets" and "signets" being verbally misunderstood that becomes relevant.
