Graduation weekend

We have just arrived back from the the UK after spending over 12 hours in planes and airports from the Isle of Man to Zurich, via Manchester.

Friday was a fantastic day for me as I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the Open University, it was a day I never really thought I would happen as I struggled through the last couple of years of study. On the days when I thought I would make it, I envisioned being there with both my Mum and Dad as they have provided me with unbelievable support from afar during my studies. Unfortunately Dad is no longer with us but I was thinking about him a lot during the ceremony and the rest of the weekend. Both Mum and Ursula came along with me and tell me how much pride they felt throughout the day.

Ursula took some pictures of us all of which I have posted a couple in the gallery, the official photos will not arrive for another few weeks but I'm not confident that they will have turned out as good as these.

After the graduation we headed home to the Isle of Man to experience a bit of the TT atmosphere, there were certainly plenty of bikes around though no racing (apart from sidecars) due to the bad weather. Both Ursula and I would like to go back maybe next year on the bike for the week.

After a nice long weekend and nearly a month off work, reality is about to hit home. I return to work on Wednesday and I have a TMA for M886 due next Monday. We were hoping to go hiking this weekend if the weather is good though the plans may change depending on how much work I can get done on the TMA this week.

I also have a huge list of other stuff to get on with like organising a suit for the wedding and finding out about climbing lessons that I can get Ursula into as she has agreed to try indoor climbing (so I may now have a climbing partner after a couple of years break!)
