Things are pretty quiet here, which is why I haven't written lately. But, at least, things are quiet in a good way rather than in a "I'm so tired of everything" kind of way. I feel like I'm resting instead of hibernating. And thankfully nothing bad has happened so far. I got through February (that month where bad things are bound to happen) just fine and feel like I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Last year's crapfest is definitely over, and I can find the time to get back in touch with what I love to do: art.
As you can see, I splurged and got a new camera. I'm getting more enthused about taking pictures and I hope to get good enough to sell a few prints someday. In the meantime, I update my flickr account way more than I do with this blog. I've been learning that I really hate to write. Grad school (which I've taken leave from) and my tech writing job have both killed whatever joy I used to get from writing. So every so often, I think "I really should update the blog," which is quickly followed by a "meh. I'll do it later."
So, I've set up my my Flickr account to work a bit like a mini-blog, and I add photos every week. If you'd like to see what I'm up to, please go to:
http://flickr.com/photos/cellissimo/. I'm participating in a few creative groups such as Utata and Macro Mondays, so I do update there regularly. I'm not going to completely abandon this blog, though. I'm still planning on documenting my creative process, especially as I get back into the flow of things.
I'm feeling like I'm getting back in touch with myself and that's really good...
