The cast is OFF off OFF off! But my muscles turned to jello and I still can't put my full weight on my right leg. I can't walk either because I have maybe 10% of range of motion in my ankle. So it's time for physical therapy, which I start next week. I really hope that I can walk by the end of the month because there are walks to take, a bike to ride, a new town to explore, and pastries to bake. In the meantime, I'm grateful that I can just take a shower.
For some reason, the Beatle's song
Across the Universe has been playing in my head a lot lately, so here's a video for you. It's Fiona Apple's version, from the Pleasantville soundtrack. It's sort of symbol of my life this year. The universe may be wreaking havoc on me this year, but I'm still me: an aspiring yoga practicioner, a Buddhist, a woman seeking insight and peace. I'm trying to remain tranquil admist all the difficulties I've experienced the past several months and not give up. The refrain "Jai Guru Deva Om" can be roughly translated as "thank you divine teacher om". I'd like to believe that I'm supposed to be learning something in the midst of diffculty.
