Calling old friends - help with a password!!!

Nov 16, 2008 09:33

Ok, so this is a goofy request, but if anyone can help my friends can.

Does the phrase "he said she said who said trinity" ring a bell to anyone?

Our home computer crashed and burned this weekend - Windows corruption. I reinstalled XP, and it boots up fine now - with the exception that somehow it has gone into a time machine. The only login options now on Windows are Lin Odom and guest, and the Lin Odom account is password protected with a password I don't know and a hint I don't recognize. It has a password hint of "he said she said who said trinity", which rings zero bells with me, and googling it hasn't been helpful.

This computer was built with the help of some friends at Incanta (Neil, Bob...), before I got married, so that puts this password hint at somewhere between 6 and 8 years old... and probably put there by the person that built the computer, not by me.

I can see the folders where all of my documents, data, pictures, etc. are, but I can't access them logged in as guest. Long story short, if I can't guess or circumvent this password, I won't be able to get to them ever, and that's unpleasant...

Help!
1) any ideas on what the password may be with a hint of "he said she said who said trinity"?
2) anyone know how to get around this password to get admin rights if we can't guess it? It's Win XP Professional.

Thanks!
