The phone arrived yesterday, safe & sound, thank you. The only problem is, the connexion here in France uses a massively different plug system (So much for European Unity huh?) so the plug will have to be changed, or *maybe* it's possible to find some sort of adapter to connect one to the other. The little doobry on the end would fit a UK socket, France has gigantic pronged thing!
I've never heard the phrase "waste of skin" before & to be honest, i don't like it. Conjures up visions of skin grafts & anyway, i may moan like hell about the guy, which he is fully aware of, but don't consider him or anyone else on the planet 100% utterly undeserving of life. "waste of space" is a phrase i am familiar with though, somehow it seems less personal.
I gave Yoda an online Intelligence Test last night, she scored very highly, especially on vocal response (not surprising for a Siamese!) but brilliantly on problem solving (when juicy piece of ham was the reward.) However, there seem to be distinct gaps. This cat who has been howling plaintively about being Too Hot insists on flaking out on the table under the lamp, which of course emits heat.
Viking suggested i plonk her in the fridge with the ham for a minute or two.Trouble is, if she's that intelligent, she will probably work out how to open the fridge at will & probably to change the temperature to her liking. I can imagine the look on visitors faces when they go to get a drink & discover a chilled out pussy residing in the salad tray.
Many apologies for the 'waste of skin' comment being upsetting to you - it was meant to be ironic. But I shan't use it again and will use your 'waste of space' one instead, okay?
Yeah, you can probably get an adaptor for the phone plug-in thingy at your local telephone company or perhaps even at an electrical shop. In fact, they could probably change the plug-in thingy for you at an electrical shop without too much cost and bother, I reckon. I didn't think that the plugs might be different in France. A friend of mine brought over a phone from New York awhile ago that works fine here, plug-wise. Go figure.
Well, sorry it didn't work out. I know it's a good phone - costs about 50€ here and has lots of nice features on it. So if you just detach the connection cord and take it around to either the telephone company or an electrical shop you will hopefully find a way to get the connection thing working for you. Good luck.
