Double standard anyone?

It's weird how I always assume, when I see a pretty young girl in an expensive car, that she probably has sugar daddy, or comes from money. Rarely I surmise this about young guys. I usually think, they may look young, or they worked in Google and have lots of company shares, or that they come from money and it's not normal, i don't look down on ( Read more... )

Oh yeah, it's stupid. But I think the point is that the assumption is so engrained into our culture, a lot of us don't even realize when we're making it.

I agree, it's stupid, but assumption comes from repeated example and not necessarily from facts.
If you grew up seeing and being told that frogs are disgusting, you would never try to eat them, whereas French enjoy them just fine.
But, tell me, honestly, when you see a 20-25 year old (young woman or a guy) driving $300,000 Bentley, how often it's their own hard work? I would also like to know which job pays that much, that right out of college, or maybe even while in college, one can affort that kind of luxury.

yes, but this is completely different issue, and i don't think 25 is that young. It's young age, yet mature enough to be responsible.
