Off to Conception

So, on the plus side I'm not up until 3am still sorting out scenario stuff like printing characters. On the down side there's still stuff I haven't completed and stuff I don't feel completely happy about. Never mind. I've run successful games with less.

This year will be very different from the last and not only because we're not in a normal chalet, but because my long-time friend, Guy, will be coming along and this will be his first real convention. Guy kind of fell out of roleplaying a long time ago although we still talk about it from time to time, and truthfully one of the main reasons he's going is because he's currently staying with me until he finds his own place in Cardiff so he's got little choice except go back to Cornwall. I, for one, am glad for the chance to show my best friend what I get up at these cons and I hope he'll enjoy it.

Another thing that makes it different, and is possibly something that's taking a little pressure off me is the fact that I have this netbook with me which means there's actually less pressure to print everything out. In fact, one reason I'm not still up printing out stuff is because I'll mostly be running things off of this thing (chalets permitting) or carrying some of my library of scenarios here until I want to access them. I'm not sure I've got everything loaded on here by no means (let's not even get into the past scenarios I've run that I haven't even got notes for).

Nonetheless, Conception is a con I always look forward to and it also makes a difference that I'm travelling by car again rather than the train, opting to share a car hire with Guy rather than muck around with trains when there are two of us going there.

If I'm feeling particularly flush or bored I might fork out for some wifi access while I'm there (since they have wifi now) which means I might not be completely absent from the internet, but in all honesty I currently doubt it. I'm rarely truly bored at Conception.

Time to sleep.
