Emmie and Jane are cutting root vegetables and exchanging witty banter, they won't let me cook right now because I am coughing everywhere, and broke our cat-shaped cutting board last week(sorry! ahhh!! obviously we can't have nice things)
i've been learning to blues dance, it is surprisingly hella fun, lemme tell ya'll about it.
v-day, my mom sent me VEGAN CHOCOLATE DINOSAURS, jane had spent all night obsessively making these remarkably gorgeous and delicious vegan sugar cookies with everybody's names on them(she isn't even vegan, just a total sweetheart sweetheart), people came over and we all went to the SMYRC alice in wonderland themed(yes, another one) dance partay! It was fun, they had good food and guilty pleasure top 40 dance music and sooo many queeers ♥ emmie and I got our picture taken, i'll scan it sometime.
this week... Nina(say naina), crazy adorable dancer from vancouver BC is visiting, I went out to a blues dancing thing with her and emily! i'd never done anything like it before, it was really beautiful and fun actually. when people are really good at it it's like this mysterious body language, it's really pretty and intimate and fun... i want to do more!
the next day she invited me to come picnic at a muddy park with her and a bunch of others from the dance, so i brought dumpster bagels and cherry tomatoes and hung out at their adorable SE house and danced and made new friends. it was sunny and happy and amazing, they are all adorable:
good food, good people + blowing bubbles all day long!♥
yesterday, Jane dressed as butch as possible and took Emmie and I out on a ~*~HOUSEMATE DAAAATE~*~ at red and black. we doodled and chatted and forgot to bring fliers for this amazing community thing we are planning and she bought me an oatmeal raisin cookie. walking back home we found a trashbag full of shoes, and the only matching pair was these:
AMAZING STEAMPUNK LADY EXPLORER BOOOTS that fit me perfectly and are super comfy. holla.
then I went to this benefit for
http://www.inotherwords.org, a bunch of sweet local musicians dressing up and doing madonna covers, hosted by a drag queen! it was fun, it was fun, not really $8 fun but I got to see some people i know and I felt like I had to go out that night. I WAS GONNA HANG OUT WITH BRENT AND BRYCE BUT I DON'T HAVE THEIR DIGITS AHEM AHEM. haha. ♥
i am on a mystical quest to get my rampant creativity back instead of seeing somebody else do something and going 'oh cool, i will do that too'. and not worrying about how what i make will turn out, or about anything, i just need to do more stuff. portland helps, but still it has proven to be very difficult. after like 7 years i am still deschooling, goddd dammit.
