man that's all "aww" and "boo" all at once!

Here's some stuff that I learned in the film class I took:

you can MAKE fake blood for cheaper. :3 http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Fake-Blood we used it at the haunted house I worked at. The mixture they're using there is really red which will look really fake and silly on camera as well as having a "bleed" effect. True reds on camera tend to fuzz around the edges. Most red used is more of a scarlet or a dark red. if your blood is really red, add a leeeetle bit of green to balance it out. Dark red blood always looks more gruesome to me anyway. XD

Don't forget to white balance your camera by filming a white piece of paper in each light you shoot in, adjust as necessary. If you can't adjust your white balance, do some tests before hand so you can work your wardrobe around the color change. :3 And so you can tint the blood. X3;;

Oh! And don't wear really tiny stripes or you'll get a moiré effect. if you're going to wear stripes take some tests shots of them at varying distances to see if they get that moiré effect or not.

Also, never under estimate the power of permits... or at least trying to get them. We tried to get a permit for shooting a short film in an alley. City hall told us to go to the police, police told us to call the fire department, the fire department told us to call the police. We didn't get a statement, but when we were shooting someone called the police to complain. When the police got there we were able to tell them the name of the officers we spoke to and so they left us alone. yay~ :3

If you have a friend who's got a skate board, a person sitting on a skateboard with someone pushing them(don't let them stand and ride the skateboard with the camera) makes a great dolly for shots that you need to pan past stuff.

I know D edited some stuff at Mizzou before. You might be able to get a hold of them and tell them it's in conjunction with your freeschool and they might be willing to help you with giving you a place to edit together your movie. :3

Ahhh thank you so much :D Yeah, we're doing this as DIY as possible, but corn syrup is still surprisingly expensive XD

All of that information is seeeeeeeeriously useful, you somehow just filled all the holes for us on stuff we were confused about! One scene is even in an alley XD Thanks so much! ♥
